Despicable Us vs Cleaveland Bronze

Despicable Us vs Cleaveland Bronze 0-0

Well the Us got their first game of the season underway and it was against the returning Cleaveland Bronze. How would the Gobboes fair against these Khorne Beserkers. The opening drive saw the Us huddle behind the trolls Rog and Bluejohn, letting their special weapon players try and cause a bit of carnage. All was going well, Bluejohn took out a Khorngor before deciding to go for a score. Eventually deciding against eating one of his friend, he threw him downfield. The throw went a little awry, the poor gobbo crashed into a heap and didn't move. You guessed it, he died on impact. The rest of the half was spent holding off the disciples of khorne. Helped by their inability to pick up the ball.

The second half went much the same as the first. The Bronze moved up field, a simple hand-off just to open the scoring and then the dreaded 1 followed by 1 with a re-roll. The Us even managed to recover the ball and begin their own drive down field. Once again Bluejohn decided to go with the throw. This time the throw was good, but like the last time the landing was bad. Ball spilled. Thankfully both sides seemed to fail rolls and the game petered out into a 0-0 draw.

The Ratbags vs Acorns 2-2

A bruising affair for the rats who ended the game with just 4 players. Even losing their Rat ogre to a hit from a halfling. Yet somehow they managed to seal a last turn score to square the match.

Gravesend vs Sergo 2-0

The Gravesend got their season back on track with a comfortable win. Sergo struggled to deal with the blizzard conditions, spurning a couple of opportunities.

The league table has been updated.

New Season

Well season 3 finally kicked off. Sorry no pictures today. The opening game was between The Ratbags and Gravesend. The Ratbags eventually emerged with a 2-0 in what can only be described as a game of little finesse and plenty of brutality. The apothacaries for both teams will be working overtime to get the teams patched up for their next game.

Caroburg Chargers vs Gryphon Bloodsox

Caroburg Chargers vs Gryphon Bloodsox 2-2

This was to prove a blockbuster of an encounter between 2 evenly matched sides. The game began with the Chargers struggling to make much of an impact as the Bloodsox quickly gathered the ball up and pushed for an opening down the right. Despite forming a cage the Chargers managed to fight their way through to the ball carrier, but one unfortunate roll later and the Bloodsox burst free for a quick score.

From the re-start the Chargers suddenly sprung into gear. A surprising defensive set up from the Bloodsox left them open on the flanks which was quickly exploited for a quick pass and score. The second half started much the same with the Chargers once again creating and exploiting space to return to their throwing combo for a 2-1 lead.

In reply the Bloodsox came back off the ropes, deftly moving the ball to the right before swinging it left. The Chargers scrambled in defense, trying to cover the gaps before an unfortunate last ditch attempt to knock the ball carrier over failed. The Bloodsox quickly got support in and eventually squeezed through the gap for a game tying score.

The Bad Samurai vs Old World Giants 0-2

In the nights other game the Bad Samurai made their league debut. It proved a long night as the Giants ran out comfortable 2-0 winners to give their season kick start.

Clar Karond Corsairs vs Tomb Army

The main game this week saw the top of the table and 100% record Tomb Army take on last season's champions the Clar Karond Corsairs. A game of speed versus brawn.

Clar Karond Corsairs vs Tomb Army 1-1

The game lived up to its billing as a clash of 2 heavy weights. The Corsairs used their speed and agility to keep themselves away from the mummies, who had caused so much devastation this season. Early on saw the Corsairs slice through the defensive line and despite a last ditch effort from the army, they secured the first score of the game. The rest of the half saw the Corsiars slow down the army and deny them an equaliser.

The second half began with the Tomb army slowly driving upfield. This time the Corsairs struggled to break the defensive line Having to risk getting in close and being hit by the mummies. Eventually the army forced the gap to get themselves on the scoreboard. With a few turns remaining the Corsair head coach was confident he had enough time to secure the win. However a simple failure to pick the ball up, even using the last team re-roll (two 1s) put paid to that as the army were able to pummel the Corsair line. With victory gone the Corsairs managed to secure the ball and stay out of harm's way.

A good hard fought game between two good teams

Black Sun Gors vs Orkland Raidurz

Another game for season 2 saw the returning Raidurz take on the Gors in a bruising and fatal contest. It was definitely a game lacking in finesse as both sides took pleasure in hitting the opposition

Black Sun Gors vs Orkland Raidurz 1-0

The kick off saw the Gors receive, then both sides promptly started knocking the hell out of each other on the line of Scrimmage. Bigun Blockers with Guard were proving a handful. Eventually the Gors got the ball to the right and punched a hole through the line. News later reached the field that the Orc Blitzer had been killed in action. With a gap opening they pushed on for the first score.

A TD on its way

More Le crunch!

After the initial drive the game settled down to the Raidurz receiving and trying to get the ball upfield. Two drives later and they still couldn't cross the half way line. The Gors proved very adept in defence at slowing the ball and eventually blunting the Raidurz cage. Good tough game with both teams missing players for their next game.

The other game saw a close encounter between the Cleaveland Bronze and Tomb Army. Another bruising affair that saw the Tomb army secure a 1-0 victory to cement their place at the top of the table.

LV Raiders vs Caroburg Chargers

Season 2 has finally kicked off with a few games already completed. So far 3 of last season's teams have made an appearance. The Orkland Raidurz and Gryphon Bloodsox fought out a tough 0-0 in a heavy downpour. The LV Raiders were also hoping to pick up where they left off last season with a late charge into 3rd place against the Caroburg Chargers. Meanwhile The Tomb Army have quickly made their presence felt picking up back to back wins.

LV Raiders vs Caroburg Chargers 0-2

With 2 Human teams looking to get a good start to the season, it all came down to the dice rolls Unfortunately for the Raiders they were on the wrong side of the good rolls. 5 players picking up injuries including the loss of their star blitzer to a thunderous from the Charger's Ogre blocker Hrulk. Despite both sides being evenly matched, the loss of players began to expose gaps in the Raiders' defence from which they eventually succumbed to two scores. The Chargers meanwhile were over the moon with a solid start to the season.

Raiders hold onto the ball

Starting the 2nd half with only 8 players really hampered the Raiders, losing another early in the 2nd half saw them concede a second touchdown. However they did gamely hold onto the ball to prevent the Chargers from securing a bonus point.
